ABOUT NIRVA
Nirva is building the first AI fashion accessory for your mind — a necklace or bracelet that privately listens only to the wearer to enable proactive journaling, emotion tracking, and life coaching. Think Oura Ring for your Mind.
Backed by Lightspeed and South Park Commons, recognized at CES within 90 days of founding, and launching in the U.S. this fall. Co-founders bring backgrounds from Meta Reality Labs (Quest, Ray-Ban glasses) and 7+ years in the fashion industry. We're building a movement toward conscious, mindful living — and we need our first marketing leader to help define and own that story.
THE ROLE
As our Design Intern, you’ll assist across all of our design surfaces: graphic design, visual design, branding, UI, UX design, and UX research. You’ll take direction from the design and founding team, own smaller pieces end to end, and grow into more responsibility as you prove yourself.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Graphic design — social assets, marketing collateral, decks, and one-off creative as we need it.
Visual design — layouts, iconography, illustration, and polishing the visual details of what we ship.
Branding design — help shape and apply Nirva’s visual identity consistently across everything we make.
UI design — support screen design and design-system work for the Nirva companion app.
UX design — contribute to flows, wireframes, and prototypes that make the product feel effortless.
UX research — help run user interviews, synthesize findings, and turn insight into design decisions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
A strong portfolio
You have work you’re proud of — class projects, side projects, or prior internships that show real taste and craft across visual and/or product design.
Hands-on and self-motivated
You’re eager to jump in, take feedback well, and get things done without much process. You bring your own energy and curiosity.
Versatile and curious
You’re excited to work across graphic, brand, UI, UX, and research rather than staying in one lane. You want to learn all of it.
Based in San Francisco / the Bay Area, or open to relocating
This is an in-person internship. You want to be in the room.
COMPENSATION
Paid internship. Flexible on start date and duration — tell us what works for you. Direct mentorship from the design and founding team, and real, shipped work for your portfolio.
